     On behalf of the 15,000 members of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18, we welcome you to our website. Local 18 has been serving the needs of Ohio Operating Engineers for nearly sixty-five years. Our jurisdiction covers eighty-five counties in Ohio and four in northern Kentucky. In Ohio, only three counties are not covered by Local 18: Mahoning, Columbiana, and Trumbull. In Kentucky, the four counties covered are Boone, Kenton, Campbell, and Pendleton.

     We have tried to be as comprehensive as possible in displaying our current information. To contractors in Ohio, or coming to Ohio, we welcome your inquiries. To potential new members, or to groups wishing to organize, we urge you to contact us in complete confidentiality.

     Together, with our employers, Local 18 has a very extensive training program which is also displayed on this website. We constantly urge longstanding members, as well as new members, to continue to train and upgrade their skills in order to remain competitive in today’s industry.
